CSGS Graduate Funding Seminar

We are glad to invite you to the third Computer Science Graduate Society
funding seminar. The seminar will provide information about many
scholarships that are available to computer science graduate students.
The deadline for those scholarships will be through out this Fall and
the coming Winter term.

When: Friday September 17th, 1:00 to 3:15 PM
Where: ICT 516
Speakers: Dr. Jörg Denzinger and Dr. Jeffrey Boyd

In this seminar, Dr. Denzinger and Dr. Boyd will be sharing their
experience in reviewing research proposals and funding applications in
general, in order to help you know: what the reviewers are looking for,
and what you can do to improve your application.

The first hour will discuss how to write a good research proposal or a
good funding application. After a 15 minutes break, the second hour will
give more specific information about major awards like Alberta Ingenuity
Fund, NSERC, and other means of funding like the Open Scholarships.

The seminar is intended for graduate students and undergraduate students
who aim to continue on to graduate studies.

Light snacks and refreshments will be provided.
