CSGS Teaching Seminar on October 26th - Registration Required

We are pleased to invite you to the first Computer Science Graduate Society teaching seminar. The seminar will be delivered by the Teaching and Learning Centre and will introduce several teaching skills to better moderate your classrooms, as well as a brief introduction on dealing in multicultural classrooms.

When: Tuesday October 26th, 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM

  • 10:00 - 10:30: Planning and Delivering Effective Lectures: This 30 minute session introduces a model for planning and delivering presentations and includes strategies for breaking the ice and clarifying key ideas.
  • 10:30 - 11:00: Encouraging Participation: This 30 minute session will deal with student involvement and engagement and discuss questioning and feedback strategies.
  • 11:00 - 11:30: Creating Inclusiveness: This 30 minute session focuses on communication techniques that help create an inclusive environment for everyone, unleashing the potential of the multicultural classroom.
  • 11:30 - 12:00: Managing Grading Challenges: This 30 minute session focuses on grading strategies and how to deal with difficult situations that often arise from grading.
