President
Allan Lyons
Allan is in the second year of his PhD program. His current research interests involve privacy and security on mobile devices and contextual integrity. Besides his academic pursuits, Allan is actively involved in the Graduate Labour Union (GLU) on campus and has contributed to other GSA committees.
Vice-President Academic
Erfan Nosrati
Erfan is a Master’s student at the Network Lab, focusing on enhancing the Datacenter network by reducing end-to-end delay and implementing load balancing to evenly distribute traffic flows. As VP Academic, Erfan aims to enhance CSGS’s network with industry professionals and other universities to create new opportunities for our members.
Vice-President Communications
Clara Xi
Clara is a Master’s student at the Interactions Lab, where she studies human-robot interaction. She is currently interested in understanding the privacy implications of social robots and in co-designing private social robots with older adults. As VP Communications, her goal is to expand CSGS’s reach within the department and support increased student engagement.
Vice-President External
Ehssan Mousavipour
Ehssan is a Master’s student in the Network Lab, focusing on Deep Learning methods for detecting attacks and anomalies in Industrial Control Systems. As VP External, Ehssan aims to enhance our network with other clubs at the university and plan outdoor events.
Vice-President Finance
Sajad Dadgar
Sajad is a first-year Master’s student specializing in the application of machine learning techniques in cybersecurity, specifically using Graph Neural Networks for mining security policies. As the VP of Finance, he is responsible for managing the budget allocated to organizing various events and activities.
Vice-President Internal
Mahdi Farrokhimaleki
Mahdi is a M.Sc. student doing his research under the supervision of Dr. Zhao. He specializes in AI applications in games and Machine Learning. As VP Internal, he aims to help managing internal communications and processes and create a better environment for CS graduate students.
Vice-President Social
Seyed Nami Modarressi
Nami is in the first year of his Master’s program in the SEER Lab, where he is researching XR applications, specifically improving the testing of XR applications. As VP Social, he is trying to increase the engagement of students in CSGS and its events.
